Altoona is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Altoona follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A must do for locals and out of towners! Will was our docent and he was an absolute delight. He was very knowledgeable and you could tell he had a genuine interest in local history. This was my second visit and I learned so much more. Can't wait to go again!

The Bakers were a remarkable family who really left their mark on Altoona. The house is right across from the legendary Mansion Park Stadium. We arrived too early to take a tour- and we had to get on the road, but we will be back to tour the interior of the home.

We had a wonderful visit. Stopped with a friend on Juneteenth 2026. Way more than I expected. We probably spent 2.5 hours. A lot to see. Guides were all very kind and informative. They loved their town and I really appreciate that. I want to give a special shoutout to our guides Lisa and Kevin, and to Will who was working at the reception desk and sold the tickets. They couldn't have been any friendlier or more welcoming. Highly reccomend.

Definitely an interesting tour. Lots of old iron work, fine woodwork, and stone. Plenty of antiques, and am interesting history of the family that one owned it.

For just $10 dollars you can get an in depth, informative and detailed tour (~2 hrs long). Right now, the mansion is decorated for the holidays. Closed for the season on Christmas. Recommend!
